Michael Nardozza, a teacher from Horizon High School in Pointe-Claire, competed on the Food Network Canada's Wall of Chefs on January 31st and he did not disappoint.
Nardozza competed against 3 other chefs and was judged by some of the country's very popularly known chefs Mark McEwan and Danny Smiles.
In his first round of competition, Nardozza made his famous eggplant caponata with veal cutlet trying to win over the judges with this diverse dish. In his second dish, Nardozza accidentally overcooked his lamb and was close to going home but won over the judges with an homage to Montreal with a final poutine dish.
The high school teacher won the prize of $10,000 and plans on splitting it between his parents' non-profit organization "Bearers of Love International" and a car for his family.
There is no plan for Nardozza to create a career out of cooking, at this time it's just something he loves to do. He will stick to teaching and making food for his family and friends.
