Volunteer Opportunity: Canadian Water Network’s Student and Young Professional Committee

Applications are open to apply for the Canadian Water Network's student and young professional committee for a number of positions.


20 candidates will be selected for the roles of President, Webinar Coordinator, Social Media Specialist, and Regional Representative.


The objective is to create a diverse committee of young professionals who will represent major centres around Canada such as Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Halifax, as well as smaller locations.


These positions are for individuals looking to acquire new skills, expand a professional network and demonstrate leadership and autonomy.


This one-year volunteer opportunity will run from April 1st, 2022 until March 31st, 2023.


What’s involved?

  • Organization of networking events in locations across Canada (virtual or in-person as local public health guidelines permit).

  • Organize World Water Day events, often in collaboration with others.

  • Collaborate to complete a small group project.

  • Develop webinars for students and young professionals.

  • Represent CWN as a young ambassador at events and in the digital space.

  • Participate in training and mentoring opportunities.

To be eligible for the program, you must be studying or working in Canada with an interest in how water impacts and connects to your area and you must be in the first 5 years of your professional career.
