In its mission to increase road safety on its territory, the City of Dorval modified the circulation and traffic by-law and reduced the speed limits in several streets of the City last May. In the pursuit of this mission, the City is proud to launch, as of today, its visual road safety campaign to raise awareness through new signs, reminding citizens that driving slow is safer.
Through two different visuals, the signs aim at encouraging road users to reduce their speed and, by doing so, to be alert when sharing our Dorval roads. The City wishes to encourage its citizens to participate in this collective effort by not only adhering to this moto, but also by installing one of these signs on their front lawn, in full view of road users.
Citizens who wish to take part in this campaign must first contact the Mayor's Office by calling 514 633-4042 or by sending an email to mberube@ville.dorval.qc.ca, and give their name and address, as well as the choice of the visual they would like to have (upon inventory availability). The sign (one per address) can then be picked up at City Hall (60 Martin Avenue).
The City strongly hopes that the latest efforts and measures put in place will have a positive effect and that many citizens will take part in the promotion of road safety. One can never say it enough: driving slow IS safer!
