Six arrests and seized firearms during Thursday's West Island searches.

The SPVM arrested six suspects and seized an equal number of firearms yesterday in a police investigation. They were targeting individuals allegedly associated with active West Island criminal groups.

Searches were also conducted in the borough of LaSalle and the municipalities of Pointe-Claire and Vaudreuil. In addition to illegal firearms, investigators seized ammunition, brass knuckles, bags of cannabis jujubes, various quantities of cocaine, MDMA (ecstasy), and Xanax.

The investigation and arrests were led by the Anti-Gang Unit of the Organized Crime Division, with the collaboration of several support units of the SPVM and the Sûreté du Québec's Emergency Response Team.

Three men between the ages of 18 and 26 appeared in court and are facing several charges, including possession of a firearm, pointing a firearm, conspiracy, and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. All three remain in custody. Another 19-year-old male was released on a promise to appear in court.

A 30-year-old female was charged with drug possession for trafficking and was released conditionally. A 15-year-old minor was also arrested during the police operation.

The criminal investigation will continue to determine the possible involvement of the same individuals in other events currently under investigation.
