Site of former Sainte-Anne's restaurant, Marco Bar and Grill, to become public park.

The City announced the acquisition and demolition of the building located at 82-84 Ste. Anne, known as the former Marco Bar and Grill, which was the site of a fire in April of 2019 and has been vacant since. It will be converted into a park as an expansion of the boardwalk promenade.

Located in the heart of the City's commercial and tourist center, the building in question's owner was not in a position to rebuild or renovate the building. The City claims that the building has posed a threat to the safety of citizens and has been compromising the aesthetics of the street. At a special meeting of the City Council held on April 26, a resolution was passed authorizing the purchase of the building. It has been acquired by the City in recent months and was purchased for $500,000.

The City will proceed over the next year with the park's redevelopment, with the building scheduled to be demolished by mid-June.
