The City of Dorval will be organizing an environmental drop-off in order to collect household hazardous waste (HHW), information and communications technologies (ICT) waste, and polystyrene articles (plastic number 6) on Saturday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the parking lot of Ballantyne Park (520 Bouchard Boulevard). A document shredding service will also be offered to citizens during that same time.
Dorval residents will be able to drop off any ICT waste (computers, screens, printers, televisions, radios, cellphones, and so forth), HHW (paint, oils, antifreeze, aerosols, and so forth), and polystyrene items (in the form of foam or hard plastic, colored or transparent) at the same location.
Only domestic waste will be accepted at the drop-off. Waste from industries, businesses, and institutions will be refused. Proof of residency will be required.
ICT waste will be collected by EPRA-Québec’s Recycle My Electronics program. For the complete list of accepted HHW and electronics, visit www.city.dorval.qc.ca.
Special COVID-19 measures to respect:
- Put your HHW in the trunk of your vehicle. Make sure that each product is stored separately (no bulk), in a waterproof container (for example, pool chlorine must be kept separate from other products).
- Stay in your vehicle.
- Turn off the vehicle’s engine and open the trunk so that employees can remove the products.
- If you need to give the employees any information, please do so while remaining in your vehicle.
Through this drop-off, the City of Dorval can, in a safe and responsible way, dispose of waste materials that take up more and more space in landfill sites.
