It's sugaring off time here in Quebec! COVID-19 has hit some industries harder than others. The maple industry is going into their second year now of devastating blows from the pandemic with many beloved sugar shacks having to shutter their doors after passing down generations of tradition.
"If everybody just thinks about their favorite sugar shacks. We really do depend on the season. We didn't have a season last year because it ended on March 13th when we had to close down. This is our second year and the sugar shacks can't afford to do this three years in a row. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Buy a meal, order some maple syrup online and have it delivered at the same time. You can still come out for a drive and go for a walk in the woods. We're still continuing. We're still here. Just come and say hello." Auberge des Gallant owner, Linda Gallant suggests ways to support the struggling sugar shacks.
