As of June 30, the City of Dorval is diving into summer with its refreshing summer programming: exhibitions inspired by Manga and fantastic creatures, roving entertainment, guided tours highlighting Dorval’s history, summer reading programs, various youth activities, surprise pop-up shows, etc. You name it, it's got it, no matter what your age or tastes.
The official launch will take place on June 30, at noon, starting with a musical performance by Antoine Gratton, at the Heather Allard Place, behind the Library. Those who wish to join this free musical event must reserve their spot by calling 514 633-4170.
Following this performance will be the vernissage of the Manga et cetera exhibit, at the Peter B. Yeomans Cultural Centre, where a selection of works influenced by manga and other Japanese animations will be showcased. Citizens who wish to view the exhibit can drop by as no reservation is required. However, a maximum number of guests will be admitted at a time.
Also watch for various roving entertainment performances such as clowns, musicians, stilt walkers, jugglers, circus performers, and more. They will bring amusement to our streets, pools, and parks this summer! And don’t forget to keep an eye out for several pop-up surprise shows to be presented throughout the City.
Lastly, summer just wouldn’t be the same without our much anticipated Dorval Celebrates event. If all goes according to plan and the pandemic doesn’t override, the event will take place on Saturday, August 14, and will be back in a big way: shows and entertainment will span across the City and add a dash of color and joy throughout all of Dorval!
