24 movies you may recognize that have been shot on the West Island.

Montréal has always been an entertainment industry hotspot and a magnet for large production companies and A-list actors. The West Island is no exception, and several movies have been filmed in and around the West.

An example of a filming set-up at Ste-Anne's Morgan Arboretum for the TV series Ghosts.

  • "The Whole Nine Yards" (2000) - Parts of this crime-comedy movie were filmed in Pointe-Claire and Dorval. This film starring Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry, also features scenes set in Lachine. Some sequences were filmed in the Lachine Canal area, showcasing the industrial backdrop.

  • "The Covenant" (2006) - While most of this supernatural thriller was filmed in the United States, some scenes were shot in Pointe-Claire. The film used the area's picturesque landscapes for certain outdoor sequences.

  • "Bon Cop, Bad Cop" (2006) - This bilingual Canadian action-comedy film features locations in and around Montreal, including parts of the West Island.

  • "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014) shot exterior scenes in Vaudreuil-Dorion, specifically on Ave. St-Charles. Stars in the film include Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Halle Berry, and Michael Fassbender.

  • "Seducing Dr. Lewis" (2003) - Although primarily set in a small fishing village, this French-Canadian comedy was filmed in Beaconsfield and Dorval.

  • "Mommy" (2014) - This critically acclaimed French-language film by Xavier Dolan was partly shot in Pierrefonds and Dorval.
