With a country so fond of sports, one wouldn’t be surprised to learn that Canadians, in and of themselves love to play a number of sports, and within this article, I will be going over some of the most popular sports, played by Canadians.

Hockey

To begin, let's talk about a staple of the Canadian sporting scene: hockey. Hockey has a

long and illustrious history in Canada. Hockey is the most popular sport in Canada to watch,

play, and bet on. There are a variety of online sportsbooks that can be accessed both on

your laptop or mobile. You can place a variety of bets on different hockey leagues on the

They consider it to be one of their nation's greatest sources of pride because it is one of our

nation's oldest sports. It's about as likely to find a giraffe in Antarctica as it is to find a

Canadian who doesn't like anything having to do with hockey, including watching hockey,

playing hockey, betting on hockey, or any other activity related to hockey.

Curling

Curling is another sport that is played on an ice rink, and the basic premise of the game is

very similar to that of hockey. In curling, heavy, polished stones made of granite are slid all

around the ice rink, and the objective of the game is for one team to obtain a greater number of points than the other by the time it is over. Since 1807, when the first curling club in Canada was created in Montréal, the popularity of the sport of curling has been steadily

increasing over the whole of the nation of Canada.

The national championships and Olympic trials for curling are among some of the most well-

attended sports tournaments in the country, and a considerable number of the winners of

these competitions have gone on to achieve success on the most prestigious sporting

platforms in the world, bringing more and more recognition to the sport of curling.

Basketball

It is impossible to discuss Canadian culture without bringing up basketball, which ranks

among the country's most notable exports alongside poutine and maple syrup. The sport of basketball is one that has spread to all four corners of the world and does not require any sort of introduction. It has been cited as one of the most popular sports within Canada, right up there with hockey as the top sport, and the many leagues which are televised and popularized have an extremely strong Canadian following.

Final Thoughts

When one is going up into Canada, there are a litany of great reasons on why to head there.

The natural areas, the affable and always friendly population, the events, nightlife, all of

these are staples of Canada, but in regards to the sporting sector, Canada’s is one of the

best, all due to Canadian’s deep love for sport, as well as their deep sense of innovation. All

in all, Canada and sports go together like Maple Syrup and Waffles!
