Maintaining accessibility to psychologists in Quebec's public health sector

The nonprofit organization, Coalition des psychologues du réseau public québécois (CPRPQ), wants to maintain accessibility to free psychological care in the Quebec health network.

They believe that investing in the public network is the best way to provide the population with quality mental health care, particularly for the most vulnerable.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the demand for mental health services with 86% of psychologists reporting an increase in distress in their patients in connection with the pandemic.

They fear that as a result of the pandemic, Quebec is facing an unprecedented mental health crisis. The result of this is a shortage of psychologists in the public health sector creating long wait time to receive care.

They are asking for the public's help in calling on the government to take all necessary steps immediately to address the shortage of psychologists and ensure access to mental health services in the public system.
