Lori’s LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT - declutter specialist

It is said that if we look back to when we were very young, we will see what our passion is.

My younger sister often came home from school to find that the furniture in the bedroom we shared had been rearranged. That was the beginning but it didn’t stop there. I was fortunate that my mother permitted me to have my way with the whole house. Follow that with 20 years in window display and now, decluttering. I absolutely love this work.

Have you felt stressed about the state of your home? Do you look around your space and have no idea where to begin to organize it? You want to feel good but just the thought of starting feels overwhelming?

Identifying the challenge

Sometimes it is not the actual decluttering, but being present with feelings and thoughts that arise when you begin. The process involves deciding which treasures will remain, rather than what will go.

Clarity and a feeling of peace

Often we don’t realize how much mental energy is generated around feeling stressed and uncomfortable with clutter.

Save time and money

When your space is organized, there is no need to search for what you are looking for. If everything has a place and is returned when we finish with them – then clutter won’t exist any longer. When you know where things are, you won’t spend money buying an item you didn’t realize you already had.

Renewed appreciation

Clutter also stops us from seeing the beauty of the items we own. With less ‘visual noise’ around us, we actually see the things we hold dear.
