Legault to hold press conference Tuesday, 1p.m. with Dubé and Arruda

The Premier of Quebec, François Legault, will hold a press briefing on Tuesday, at 1 p.m., in the company of the Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, and the National Director of Public Health, Horacio Arruda.

The trio are expected to take stock of the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic in the province, as the number of cases has been on the rise in recent weeks.

This is the first press briefing bringing together the three men since the start of the summer vacation.

The Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, has recently increased calls for vaccination in order to prevent the epidemiological situation from deteriorating too quickly.

On Friday, he posted a letter on social media in which he said that achieving collective immunity was becoming increasingly difficult.

“It was thought a while ago that it would be possible to achieve herd immunity with vaccination. But the mutations of the virus always push back this hope further, ”he wrote on his Facebook page.

As of Monday, Quebec had 530 new cases of COVID-19 and no new deaths.

Over the weekend, 11 more people have been admitted to hospital and eight more people were admitted to intensive care.
