Introducing the new stars of the Ecomuseum

Meet Sindri and Saga, the unique silver red foxes and the Ecomuseum's latest additions. Rescued from a fur farm, this young couple was born in the spring of 2022 and arrived at the Ecomuseum Zoo in the fall of 2022.

The Zoo reached out to the public for their help in naming the duo. In a social media poll, the options were;

  • A. Kerberos (Greek Mythology) and Malea (Hawaiian)

  • B. Sindri and Saga (Northern Mythology)

  • C. Kitsune "Kit" and Sune (Japanese).

The duo of Sindri and Saga won hands down, having amassed 67% of the popular vote.

Silver Red Foxes can be distinguished by the color of their coat, which can range from black to blue and grey through ash grey. The tip of their tail, however, is always white!

The Ecomuseum's animal care team has begun their "biomedical" training to facilitate the daily management of their health and well-being.

The Ecomuseum Zoo showcases Québec's wildlife in a natural setting, where every detail is considered to ensure the well-being of the animals in their care. Their team aims to safeguard their mental, emotional and physical well-being. With them and for them, the team raises awareness, educates, and protects. Those who wish to pay a visit to the new residents can purchase tickets here.
