International Game Technology Sign a 15-Year Contract With OLG

Earlier this September, International Game Technology (IGT) announced that it was chosen by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation to be the primary software developer of self-serve lottery terminals. The company will do this through its subsidiary, IGT Global Solutions Corporation.

With this agreement, the province of Ontario will mark its first time allowing self-serve technology for lottery fans. The contract is set to run until June 2027, after which there’ll be ten additional one-year contracts allowing for its extension.

About IGT

IGT is a global leader in online gaming, whose primary business segments are Gaming, Lotteries, and Digital & Betting. Under the Lottery segment, the company focuses on providing traditional lottery services, including sales, technology, operations, and support. It also supplies iLottery software to top online operators like 888 Casino, Casumo Casino, BetVictor, Spin Casino, and Jackpot City.

IGT in Online Casinos

From iKeno to eDraws and eInstants, IGT has got you covered with every lottery game you’d want in your favorite online casino. When you pick eInstants, you get to choose from traditional instant play titles like Crossword and Bingo, as well as popular games like Wheel of Fortune and Ghostbusters. As for the eDraws, you’ll find multiple multi-state lotto-style draw games like Powerball and Mega Millions

.

888 Casino-Among the Best IGT-Powered Operators

Established in 2001, 888 Casino is one of the most popular and well-recognized brands worldwide. There are dozens of IGT games to play at 888 Casino, including lottery-style titles like Bingo, Ghostbusters, and Keno, as well as slots and table games. If you’re worried about your safety, don’t be, because the operator is licensed in Gibraltar and is eCOGRA certified, meaning it maintains high levels of player protection and fairness.

Terms of the Contract

As per the contract terms, IGT is expected to supply 1,400 GameTouch 28 self-serve lottery terminals to be deployed across Ontario. These terminals will include accessibility features like PINs, audio jacks, and even responsible gambling tools to ensure your experience is 100% smooth. As long as the contract is still valid, IGT may also install additional self-serve lottery terminals like the GameTouch Draw.

When Will the Terminals Be installed?

Based on recent reports, IGT plans on kicking off this project in 2023. And if it goes on without any interruptions, the company will complete the first phase of installing the self-serve lottery terminals in retail locations within the year. However, the starting date for this project is subject to further government approvals, so it’ll probably delay until the second half of next year.

To Conclude

OLG is making serious moves regarding lottery play in Ontario, having partnered with the iGaming giant, IGT, to introduce self-serve lottery technology. As such, you can expect to be able to take your chance with top lottery titles from multiple retail shops across the province by the end of next year. Your experience will be fantastic, too, as IGT’s terminals complement OLG’s innovation goals to provide high-quality features for your convenience and excitement.
