Earlier Monday, The Ministère des Transports has confirmed that there will be a complete closure of the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge, between Vaudreuil-Dorion and Senneville. The closure is required in order to carry out emergency work.
Here are the details:
The Cause: Due to work in progress, the Ministry observed reinforcing rods damage. This could lead to a possible weakening of the structure.
The Result: Traffic detour via highways 20 & 30. The Ministry will cancel the toll on Highway 30 until the bridge reopens.
To Note: The ARTM & EXO are offering free service on the EXO1 Vaudreuil-Hudson train line as of May 20 at 4 p.m. The free admission will be in effect this weekend and then the following weekdays. It will be in effect until the bridge reopens. Police officers will also be deployed to facilitate traffic.
