The West Island Blues Festival will be celebrating its 19th anniversary this year.

Over the past 18 years, the Festival has given more than $250,000 to several community organizations on the West Island. This year’s recipients will be West Island Women’s Shelter, Alzheimer's Group, West Island Black Community Association, AJOI, and Literacy Unlimited.

As you are aware, the main objective of the WIBF is to promote blues on the West Island and at the same time raise funds for local charities.

On May 26th, the annual VIP indoor concert, featuring Juno Award Winner Dawn Tyler will be held. This will take place at the Pierrefonds Cultural Centre at 13,850 Gouin Boulevard, Pierrefonds. Tickets cost $100 (tax deductible) and include cocktails, a meal, and the concert.

In addition, the free outdoor concerts will be held as follows:

· Saturday, July 9th, from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm at the Dollard des Ormeaux Park, 12,000 de Salaberry Boulevard (in front of the DDO Civic Centre). Headliner will be Sylvie Desgroseilliers

· Saturday, September 10th, from 5:00 pm to 11:30 pm in Pointe-Claire Village. Headliner will be announced at a later date.
