Dozens of trucks torched in Dorval Saturday night

The Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) were dispatched to a fire that occurred in Dorval overnight Saturday. A dozen road tractors would were torched.

The police received a 9-1-1 call around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning, for a fire that allegedly started in the backyard of a business located at the intersection of André Avenue and Hymus Boulevard. When they arrived on the scene, the firefighters were already trying to control the flames.

Police believe the fire to be criminal in nature. Suspects were reportedly seen near the scene shortly before the blaze started.

Truck tractors are now considered a total loss.

“Given the circumstances surrounding this event, the investigation into the causes and nature of the fire was transferred to the SPVM around 3:50 this morning,” said Véronique Dubuc, spokesperson for the police force.
