Development freeze for a Dorval sector

Source: City of Dorval

During last Monday’s council meeting, the City of Dorval decided to impose a development freeze on a sector of the municipality located east of the Montreal-Trudeau Airport, more precisely between Highway 20, Côte-de-Liesse Road, and 55th Avenue.

The City now wishes to reflect on the future of this unstructured sector that must deal with difficult cohabitation between usages (industrial and residential), and undertake a collaborative planning process before allowing new regulatory amendment requests from land developers.

The municipality intends to draw on the best practices in land planning and sustainable development.

The City’s ultimate goal is to provide affected citizens with the opportunity to contribute to the development of their own living environment, in accordance with the orientations of the municipality’s sustainable urban plan.
