Eastbound roadway reconstruction in Baie-D'Urfé and Kirkland

Eastbound pavement reconstruction work will begin on May 14 between the Lee Avenue sector and Saint-Charles Boulevard. The work will continue until next year but will be interrupted in December for the winter period.

Work period: May 14 to next year.

Where: Lee Avenue sector and Saint-Charles Boulevard.

Obstructions

  • Highway 40 eastbound will have to be closed for an extended period to complete this work.

  • Traffic will be diverted in the other direction, where it will flow in the opposite direction, between Lee Avenue and Saint-Charles Boulevard. Dynamic traffic management will be used to reduce the impact on road users. This measure will maintain three lanes of traffic in the peak direction and two lanes in the opposite direction.

  • The implementation of the contraflow will be announced as soon as it is confirmed. In the meantime, a few partial night closures of Highway 40 westbound and a partial night closure of Highway 40 eastbound are expected to mobilize the work site.

  • Since the work could cause noise, the Ministère has planned to install a temporary noise barrier between the Gérard-Guindon Street sector and Chemin Sainte-Marie.
