Animatch's October adoptees are here; and as adorable as ever!

Animatch has been busy matching dogs from abroad with their fur-ever homes. These pups were strays in the Dominican Republic and Armenia and had been brought to Montréal just in time. The new Canadian Food Inspection Agency laws that were implemented on September 28th stated that the entry of commercial dogs into Canada from these countries will be prohibited until further notice, due to the alleged high risk for dog rabies. Animatch adoptees are spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, undergo de-worming and microchipping, and a Heartworm and Lyme disease blood test. They are ready for a second shot at life with new, loving owners who will commit to a lifetime companion.

ASTRO-MALE-MIXED BREED (DOMINICAN REPUBLIC) 11 MONTHS OLD

Astro and several of his littermates journeyed from the Dominican Republic. He's been working very hard to become the companion that everybody wants. He is quiet and affectionate and gets along with other dogs and respectful children. He's learning basic commands and realizes that humans jump for joy when he does his business outside. Astro is looking for a patient, loving family who will commit to him through thick and thin for the next ten to fifteen years.

JENNA-FEMALE-MIXED BREED (DOMINICAN REPUBLIC) 11 MONTHS OLD

Jenna and her littermates were also rescued from the Dominican Republic. She is timid, and another well-balanced dog in the home would help her figure out family life. Jenna will require some time to adjust to her new home and a family with oodles of love, patience, and commitment.

SONYA-FEMALE-MIXED BREED (ARMENIA)- 3 1/2 YEARS OLD

We don't have much history on Sonya, but if you go to our website, you can see what she looked like before she came to us. She struggled as a street dog. Sonya is now enjoying good food, clean water, and ear scratches from our volunteers. All she needs now is her first and forever home. She's a bit anxious, so her family must understand that it will take a while for her to adjust. But once she has settled in, Sonya will morph into a fun-loving cuddle bug.

YOJIK-MALE-MIXED BREED (ARMENIA)- 1 1/2 YEARS OLD

Yojik has been with us for a while, so here is a short recap. He came to us from Armenia and had been hit by a car. Our Vet had to amputate a front leg, but Yojik can still keep up with almost any four-legger. He was adopted but returned through no fault of his own. He is an adolescent, and his energy proved too much for the resident, an older dog. He dreams of living with another energetic dog who loves to play, preferably in their fenced backyard. He doesn't do well with cats (he likes them, but it isn't mutual). Yojik would probably do well in obedience classes, even with only three legs.
