75 year old Dollard des Ormeaux resident succumbs to fire on Monday night

Firefighters were called to Paris Street, near Seville Street in Dollard Des Ormeaux

around 5 p.m. on Monday, October 31. The fire was quickly brought under control, said Montreal Fire Department (SIM) spokeswoman Stéphanie Lorrain.


According to Lorrain, upon their arrival, they found the critically injured man. Paramedics treated him at the scene before being transported to the hospital, where he died. Lorrain explained that the victim was overcome by smoke inhalation.


It was still too early Monday evening to comment on the causes of the fire, said Ms. Lorrain.
